Mr. William Carlyle Hall, 88, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
Born January 10, 1920 in Bertie County, he was the son of the late Garvey Pete and Mary Jenkins Hall and was preceded in death by his wife, Themise Smith Hall; son, William C. Hall Jr. and brother, Shelbon Hall. Mr. Hall was the former owner/operator of W.C. Hall Oil Co. of Plymouth. He later was branch manager of Home Federal Savings and Loan until his retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a past master of Perseverance Lodge No. 59, member of the Scottish Rite, The Order of the Eastern Star and a Shriner.
His family includes his sons, Robert S. Hall and wife Kate of Raleigh, N.C. and Donald A. Hall and wife Carol of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Janice S. Hall of Wake Forest, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael C. Hall, Marcus Hall, Robert Hall, Daniel Hall, Jennifer Webb, Nicholas Hall and Caroline Hall; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Webb, Haley Webb, Avery Hall, Forbes Hall and Meredith Darden Hall.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
