So-called hunters

To the Editor:
Here we are again. September’s flying by and hunting season will be upon us. Not looking forward to three months of maneuvering around pickup trucks strung along the roadside with so-called hunters perched on the back waiting to take a potshot at a deer that’s been chased out of the woods.
I have nothing against hunting or hunters. I was born and raised in Beaufort County and still live on our family farm. My father hunted. So did my brothers. But, when they were hunting they did not head for a pickup truck that was parked on the side of the road. They headed for the woods.
Taking shots from the back of a pickup truck on the roadside is target practice. If it is target practice you want, head for a shooting range. If you are a real hunter, head for the woods!
