Williamston getting Tractor Supply

Published 10:10pm Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Construction is under way on a new Tractor Supply Co. store in Williamston, the company’s 55th North Carolina location.
Tractor Supply Co. is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States. It has been operating in North Carolina since 1994.
The Williamston store will be located in the former grocery space at 813A East Blvd., and it will employ 12 to 17 full- and part-time team members. The store will include sales-floor and support-service space. A fenced exterior space will be used for storage and displaying items such as fencing, sprayers and livestock equipment.
“Tractor Supply looks forward to being a member of the Williamston community,” said district manager Jason Burden. “Williamston is a great fit due to the part-time and hobby farmers, and horse owners in the area.”
The contractor for the project, Marco Contractors Inc. of Warrendale, Pa., began construction Aug. 27. A completion date has been tentatively set for mid-November.
