Diners at La Bella Slices and Ices were seeing pink Friday.
The pizzeria took part in “Slices of Hope,” a nationwide campaign by “passionate pizzerias” that raises money for breast cancer research.
“This is the second year the pizza industry has done this. We’re giving away 15 percent of our sales today to Slices of Hope,” said Deborah LoGelfo, owner of the pizzeria.
The restaurant also sold handmade crafts, baked goods, breast cancer awareness hats and pins to raise funds for cancer research.
The fundraiser coincided with another pink event: Paint the Town Pink.
Washington resident Christie Selken said she enjoyed shopping in a sea of pink.
“I think it’s a really nice idea,” Selken said. “It was beautiful downtown, driving through and seeing all the pink. It looked festive.”
