The organization, For the Love of Sarah, will have a cornhole tournament at the Chocowinity Fire Department from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The tournament costs $12 per player. Sign up as a team or have your partner selected in a blind draw. Players should bring their own bags for the event.
Winners of the double elimination tournament will receive half of the tournament proceeds. Second place will receive 25 percent.
The tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the N.C.  Highway Patrol Campaign “Don’t Text and Drive.” Chocowinity resident Tracy O’Carroll started For the Love of Sarah after losing her daughter, Sarah Edwards, in a wreck caused by distracted driving.
For the Love of Sarah will hold a bake sale and serve hot dogs, drinks and snacks at the event. The food and snacks were donated. To help with the tournament or the bake sale, call O’Carroll at 252-940-8910.
A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Chocowinity Fire Department.
