Paul Allen “P.A.” Clark

Mr. Paul Allen “P.A.” Clark, Jr., age 80, a resident of 115 Beech Lane, the Rosedale Community in Washington died Friday, November 16, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday, November 19, 2012 at First Church of Christ of Washington officiated by Ray West and Steve Hill.  Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.  Elders and Deacons of First Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Clark was born in Beaufort County on January 26, 1932 son of the late Paul Allen Clark, Sr. and the late Esther Taylor Clark.  He was a 1950 graduate of Chocowinity High School and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He married the former Susie Pearl Harrison and later married Muriel Elizabeth Woolard on May 16, 1964 who preceded him in death on December 1, 2000.  On July 5, 2005, he married the former  Ferraba Sutherland Kelly who preceded him in death on July 11, 2011.  Mr. Clark retired from Texas Gulf in 1993 as a General Foreman.  He was a strong supporter of Open Door Ministries where he served many years as treasurer.  Mr. Clark was a member of First Church of Christ and Clarks Neck Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include Mr. Clark’s children: Connie Clark Benson and her husband Mickey of Pantego, Paul Allen “Al” Clark, III and his wife Deborah of Chocowinity, Cheryl Clark Reed and her husband Rick of Chocowinity,  Charles Taylor Clark and his wife Tina of Bath, Sharon Elizabeth Digness and her husband Brent of Washington; two sisters: Doris “Dot” Rayburn and Carolyn “Pop” Waters both of Chocowinity; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends 7 PM to 8:30 PM Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
