IRVING, Texas – Conference USA officials have narrowed down East Carolina’s list of bowl possibilities to two, confirming Monday that the Pirates will participate in either the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl or R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl depending on the outcome of Saturday’s C-USA Championship Game.
If UCF defeats Tulsa in the league title game, ECU will head to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., to compete against a to be determined opponent at The Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl on Friday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. If the Golden Hurricane top the Knights, the Pirates will face Louisiana-Lafayette inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl at 12 noon (ET) on Saturday, Dec. 22.
Bowl tickets will go on sale beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 via Bowl Ticket Central, ECU’s online post-season ticketing platform. Applications will be mailed out Monday, Dec. 3 for football season ticket holders and Pirate Club members, while a priority deadline of 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10 has been established.
Fans are encouraged to visit the Bowl Ticket Central page for additional ticket and travel information, and a schedule of events.
Regardless of a specific assignment at this point, East Carolina (8-4, 7-1 C-USA) will be making its sixth bowl appearance in the last seven years. The Pirates played in the Papajohns.com Bowl in 2006, the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl in 2007, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl after the 2008 and 2009 seasons, and the Military Bowl in 2010.
Both contests will air live on either ESPN or ESPN2.
