Ms. Alice Mae Shackelford Wilson, age 79, a resident of River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Washington, NC, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. A graveside celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the grave following the service.

Ms. Wilson was born in Beaufort County on August 7, 1933, daughter of the late James Archie and Lucy Mae Jones Shackelford. She was married to Hughie Lee Wilson who died September 3, 2000. Ms. Wilson was employed in the nursing profession as a nurse’s aide. She was a past member of Lighthouse of God Church in Eastern Pines.

Ms. Wilson is survived by her children, Henry Brian Gibbs, Jr. of Roper and Jessie Mae Bell of Washington, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sons, two brothers and one sister.
