Mrs. Dorothy Williams Everett, age 92, a resident of 464 Firetower Lane, Bath, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Everett’s Church of Christ, 48 S. White Post Road, Pinetown, conducted by Dennis R. Davis. Burial will follow in the Everett Family Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Larry Mobley, Jr., Randy Woolard, Keenan Woolard, Gilbert Rumley Everett II, William Thomas Everett and Matt Respass.
Mrs. Everett was born in Belhaven, N.C. on August 8, 1920.  She was the daughter of the late Samuel Tilton Williams and Mattie Paul Williams.  Mrs. Everett worked in the cotton mills in Roanoke Rapids until her family moved to the area in 1952.  After the move, she was a homemaker, farmer’s wife and nurse’s aide. Mrs. Everett was a member of the Everett’s Church of Christ and the Ladies’ Aide of the Church. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting and gardening as long as her health permitted.  Mrs. Everett was “an excellent baby sitter and enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren”.
In February of 1941, she married Irvin Rumley Everett, who preceded her in death, October 28, 1979.
Survivors include her three sons, Reuben Everett of Chesapeake, Va., Mitchell Everett and wife, Denise Everett of Pinetown, Gilbert Everett and wife, Lila Everett of Bath; a sister, Barbara W. Woolard and husband, Cedric of Washington; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Everett was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Linda Everett; two brothers, J. Tilton Williams and Napolean B. Williams; and a grandchild, Sharon Everett.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Everett’s Church of Christ and other times at the home, 464 Firetower Lane, Bath.
