McCrory holds First cabinet meeting, news conference

RALEIGH (AP) — North Carolina’s new governor planned to meet with reporters and his cabinet before heading for his first out-of-town trip since taking office.
Gov. Pat McCrory planned his first news conference for Monday as well as his first cabinet meeting. McCrory took the oath of office Saturday in a private ceremony. A public gala will be held this weekend.
McCrory took the oath early so he could be in office when the Legislature meets for the first time this session on Wednesday.
After the meeting in Raleigh. McCrory planned to head to Asheville to meet with supporters in the first leg of a quick trip around the state. McCrory will visit with people in Greensboro and New Bern on Tuesday and will be in Charlotte on Wednesday.
