SHS Math Club visits nursing home

IT ADDS UP: Nineteen members of the Southside High School Math Club shared some of their holiday cheer when they visited Willow Manor Nursing Home after school on Dec. 13. Members of the club brought all 25 residents presents to be opened on Christmas Day and sang Christmas carols. Residents joined in on the fun by singing with the club members. Advisers of the club are Tina Petty and Lisa Johnson. Members visiting the nursing home were (pictured, kneeling left to right) Destinee Joyner, Tamera Sawyer, Breone Carswell, Emily Perry, adviser Tina Petty, (standing left to right) Katie Laughinghouse, Holly Perry, adviser Lisa Johnson, Jalynne Ramsey, Lori-Cartherine Ball, Danita Gibbs, Galen Powers, Macy Paramore, Tameka Smith, Barbie Doll Moore, Aaron Cutler, Tiana Corbett, Hayley Tyndall, Danielle Clark, Marcus Tisdale and Justin Tyer. Members of the Math Club are continuing to collect can tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Greenville. Tabs from cans such as soda, soup and pet food can be dropped off at Southside High School, Chocowinity Middle School, Chocowinity Primary School, S.W. Snowden Elementary School, Mike’s Mini Mart of Chocowinity and Hot Locks of Washington. The club appreciates all of those who support its efforts.
