William McCally Gillikin

William McCally Gillikin, of Kinston, was born September 19, 1929 in Beaufort, N.C.,
and passed away January 4, 2013, in Kinston. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Gillikin.
He graduated from Beaufort High School in l947 where he was captain of the baseball
and basketball teams. He was inducted as a member of the National Star Athletes
Society as an outstanding athlete, excellence of character, leadership and industry. After serving in the Army he worked at Morehead City Country Club, Minnesott Golf and Country Club, Kinston Country Club and Falling Creek Country Club.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home, Kinston, with the Rev. Terry Coates officiating. Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife Hazel Gillikin of Kinston, N.C., a sister Edna Brock of  Beaufort, N.C., brothers Frank Gillikin and wife Carol of Virginia Beach, Va., and Raymond Paul Gillikin of  Beaufort, N.C.; a son William Luther Gillikin, Country Club Road, Morehead City, N.C.
