Bobby Hughes Burrus, 75, of 23040 U.S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington.
Born in Dare County, November 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Lula Mae Twiford Burrus. Bobby spent most of his working years in the automobile industry at McCoy’s Body Shop.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the family plot at Soule Cemetery. Rev. Jerald Craddock will officiate.
Surviving are a brother, Allen E. Burrus of Swan Quarter and a sister Carolyn B. O’Neal of Swan Quarter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Johnny Burrus, Robert Burrus and a sister Willie Estelle Burrus.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Anita Fletcher, 30252 U.S. Hwy. 264, Engelhard NC 27824.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
