Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Can our county commissioners look more foolish? Al Klemm voted against a resolution to require voters to have a photo ID. Then, 90 seconds later voted in favor of a resolution requiring voters to have a photo ID. Why do we put up with these people?

As I read the editorial “Detour sign ahead,” I was wondering why our tax dollars are not being spent to improve waterfront facilities for local residents. We can only find dock space for our not-so-large boats to enjoy a meal or walk on the waterfront.

The caller who called in about downtown being dead must be talking about downtown Washington, D.C. I frequent downtown Washington quite a bit, and I find it to be a thriving place. Many times, I can’t even get a parking place downtown. I think we have a wonderful downtown, a busy, hustling downtown. Maybe that person needs to look elsewhere.

Tell our governor his first priority should be jobs, not voter-ID laws to disenfranchise people.
