Lucille Allen Wetmore, 92, of Raleigh passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, after a sudden illness. Born June 27, 1920, to the late Charles Allen and Leah Tingen Allen, she has resided in Wake County most of her life. Mrs. Wetmore was an active member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Raleigh. She was a member of the church choir for over 50 years, a member of the Vestry, where she served as Senior Warden, active member and past president of the ECW, she also helped create the Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen. Lucille was a founding board member of Raleigh Academy, and she and her husband volunteered, until November, for the Meals on Wheels program in Wake County for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by six brothers.
Surviving are: her husband, of 71 years, Paul H. Wetmore; two sons, Paul H. (Carolyn) Wetmore, Jr. of Bath and John A. Wetmore of Wilmington; a daughter, Kay W. Stallings of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Heather (Ken) Sebahar of IL., Graham Stallings of Raleigh, Lindsay (Alex) Arkader of CA. and Paul H. (Haley Lyons) Wetmore III of Greenville; four great-grandchildren.
The family will be present 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday at Church of the Good Shepherd, 125 Hillsborough St., Raleigh. Donations may be made to Good Shepherd
