I’d like to start a snowboarding team in Washington. Reckon I can get the U.S. Postal Service to let me have a couple hundred thousands dollars to sponsor me like they do the bicyclists?

Here it is the middle of January, and poor, little Belhaven still has its Christmas lights up and on. This morning when I got up, here on the 17th, to dismay, they’ve got contractors taking them down. Who would think? Only Belhaven.

I saw in the paper on Thursday that our brain trust on the county commissioners decided to have a special meeting Friday (Jan. 18) to discuss the Constitution. There are some real Constitutional scholars on that board. I don’t know how they can just keep piling ammunition on ammunition of how idiotic they look. They talk about economic development. What an argument against anybody thinking of bringing a business or even a residence to this county with the show that they normally put on. This extravaganza ought to be a real beauty.
