Larry Mahlon Chesson, 74, of Plymouth, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at his residence in Plymouth.
Born November 28, 1938, in Washington County, he was the son of the late William Ross Chesson, Sr. and Mabel Furlough Chesson and was preceded in death by his brother, William R. “Billy” Chesson, Jr. Larry was a retired retail sales manager, member of the Army National Guard and member of Holly Neck Church of Christ.
His family includes his wife, Peggy Brinson Chesson of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Tammy C. Grainger and husband Larry of Raleigh, N.C., Kimberly E. Hough and husband Chuck of Jamesville, N.C. and Lisa E. Gurkin and husband Eric of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Michael Chesson and wife Debbie of Youngsville, N.C. and M.L. Elliott and wife Beth of Roper, N.C.; sister, Jewel Ann Chesson of Washington, N.C.; grandchildren, Alex Chesson, Elliott Gurkin, Taylor Elliott, Erica Gurkin, Cody Allison, Ryan Elliott and Gage Elliott.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Pastor Leonard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
