Mr. Anthony “Ant” Woolard, age 46, a resident of 211 Belgian Lane, Washington, NC died Tuesday at his home.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2013, at the First Church of Christ of Washington officiated by Steve Hill and Mark Lilley. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Marty Hodges, Forest Sidbury, Ronnie Cahoon, Rusty Jackson, Bryan Waters, Lee Cherry, Larry Alligood, Charlie Wallace and Troy Woolard will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on September 13, 1966 to James Worthy Woolard and Carolyn Tyer Woolard. He was a 1984 graduate of Washington High School. On May 16, 2002, Mr. Woolard married Tiffany Lynne Woolard, who survives. Mr. Woolard worked as a welder for several companies and was presently working at Flander’s Filters as a Lead Man. He loved music and had been part of several bands in the area. Mr. Woolard was a member of First Church of Christ of Washington.

In addition to his parents and his wife Tiffany, of the home, Mr. Woolard is survived by sons: Daniel Woolard and his wife Jessica and their son Sean Hopkins of Burleston, Texas, Hunter Harrington and Tanner Harrington, both of  Washington, NC,  a sister: Luanne Martin and husband Bobby Ray and their daughter Macy of Washington, NC and Gina Leggett and husband Tim also of Washington, NC,  mother-in-law: Judy Batchelor of Washington, NC, father-in-law: Roger Woolard of Washington and a brother-in-law: Derek Woolard and wife Cari and their son Cade of Washington, NC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at First Church of Christ of Washington and other times at the home.

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the Anthony Woolard Benefit Fund, 211 Belgian Lane, Washington, NC 27889 or to the Cancer Center of one’s choice.
