Looks can be deceiving. The individual who called in the other day, concerning they couldn’t find a parking space downtown because downtown is flourishing. What they didn’t take in consideration was all the automobiles that were parked on Main Street were business owners and their employees. Therefore, if you’re shopping downtown, you can’t find a parking space. I counted 33 individual businesses that were empty there last week. Does that sound like it’s flourishing?

 

I was outraged by the writer who compared our county commissioners to the Three Stooges. The Three Stooges were hard-working professionals who entertained millions and continue to do so in reruns of their comedy genius. Comparing them to Hood, Stan and Gary is an insult to their memory.

 

I would like to know why the assistants in Beaufort County do not get paid a supplement twice a year like the teachers and school assistants in Pamlico County.
