THANKS DAD: Casey Cox, a retired member of the United States Coast Guard, poses with his son, Drew, during a recent visit to the youngster’s first grade classroom at Chocowinity Primary School. Cox shared memories of his Coast Guard experiences, including taking part in Operation Hand Clasp, during which his unit in Guam delivered books to children. Cox also showed the students a few items he collected during his world travels, including a Pacific queen conch shell and a hand-carved shark pictured here.
