Tutor training begins at Literacy Volunteers of BOCO

TUTOR TRAINING: Sandra W. Hughes, Chris Hall, Betty Williams, Terri Martin and Sonya Ramsay recently completed the 15-hour Tutor Training Class conducted by Literacy Volunteers of Beaufort County. The class members discussed literacy, adult learning, phonics, word patterns, sight words, writing, comprehension skills, and lesson planning. The six sessions were held at Child Connections/Partnership for Children facility in Washington. These ladies are now ready to assist adult learners in whatever their goals for improvement might be from getting a GED to reading the Bible, getting a driver’s license, passing employability tests and more.
