Kathryn Shepard was honored as Southside High School’s nominee to the Beaufort County Board of Education for the character trait of perseverance. Other students nominated for this character trait, part of the Beaufort County Schools’ character education program, included Raquan Ward, Kadijah Boyd, Lyndsey McNay, Ashley Fields, Rokeem Miller, Trinity Dawson, Dijonna Jones, Brandy Dobbs, Breonna Blango, Donshae Tatum, Darrin Tatum and Kyle White. All nominees were honored at a reception at Southside on Feb. 1.
