Teen arrested on drug charges

A Chocowinity teen was arrested this week on drug charges, according to a press release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit.

Andrew Michael Norman, 17, of Whichards Beach Road, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 18.

According to a spokesman for the drug unit, investigators had made controlled purchases from Norman, and when arrested, Norman was carrying a user amount of marijuana on him.

Norman has previously been arrested by the sheriff’s office and recently by the Washington Police Department on similar charges, the spokesman said.

Norman was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
