The third man wanted in a string of armed robberies and break-ins over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays has been arrested.

William Dakota Selby, 20, of N.C. Highway 45, Belhaven, was arrested Tuesday by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies and charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon for armed robberies at Hilda’s Country Store in Washington and The Quarterdeck in Bath, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and felony safe cracking for the Terra Ceia Christian School and Pungo Christian Academy break-ins, one count of breaking and entering a place of worship (Terra Ceia Reformed Church) and one count of misdemeanor larceny for theft of copper wire in Belhaven.

Though rumored to be Texas, Selby was located at a home on N.C. Highway 32, said Maj. Kenneth Watson, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Watson said a Crime Stoppers tip called in Tuesday morning led to Selby’s arrest.

Selby was held at the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
