Richard Ottis Waddell, 79, a resident of Wintergreen, Ariz., Chesapeake, Va., and formerly of Bath, N.C., died March 27, 2013.

He was the son of the late Ralph and Helen Waddell of Bath and was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his family of Virginia, wife Jean; children Cathy, Ricki Jan, Ryan and Chuck; sisters Gertrude Wallace and Fannie Romanger of Bath and Ruth Waddell of Washington. He was preceded in death by his brother Clifton “Speak” Waddell on Nov. 19, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at Sturgevant Funeral Home, 5201 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, Va., at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013
