I have lived in Washington all my life, 70 years. I want to understand why we are going from being the Original Washington to Little Washington. There’s a sign posted on each side of town saying we are the Original Washington. So what are tourists going to think when they drive through and see “Original” instead of “Little?”

I’m calling to give a big shout-out to the artist Dottie Walker and her beautiful photos of the cats and dogs at the shelter. Thank you to the Washington Daily News for helping advertise these animals that need forever homes. It certainly has been a successful situation for us who take care of these animals at the shelter and the animals.

I realize that the gas prices here and elsewhere are going down very, very slowly. I don’t understand that since when they were going up, they went up everyday real fast, sometimes jumping big increments. What’s going on with that? They need to go down just as fast as they go up. That would make a lot of sense for the American people.
