I have no problems with banning assault rifles and handguns. We don’t need them in America. I have nothing against the government coming and taking them right out of my house. If that’s for the greater good, that’s what should be done.

When will the people of Beaufort County step up to the plate and pay the taxes that they owe? If they were all paid, this county would be much better financially off? People get the benefits and amenities of the county, but they don’t want to pay their taxes.

On Easter Sunday, on my regular walking exercise, I went to Oakdale Cemetery. I saw a pair of worn-out boots, apparently thrown from a car going north on Market Street. I think it’s irresponsible to litter, but to desecrate a cemetery is too much. I wonder how the person who did this would feel if someone had done that to one of his loved one’s burial place.

I wish the City of Washington would put in place an ordinance that would ban smoking within 50 feet of an entrance to public buildings.
