Secretary Myra Mayo called the roll with 32 members present. Visitor Terry Mathias was welcomed. Treasurer Annette Smith gave the treasurers report. Club members participated in the 50/50 drawing. Jonell Barber was the lucky winner. She donated her winnings back to the club.

Several trips were discussed – The American Music Jubilee in Selma on May 16th and the Senior Expo in Washington on May 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. Plans are to leave the Senior Center for the trip to Selma at 8 a.m. The bus will pick up the Blounts Creek group around 7:30 a.m. and then go on to Aurora. As for the Senior Expo, members Linda Daniels, Ann Windley and Helen Sadler volunteered to drive to Washington for this. See any of them if you are interested in going.

Several members have things going on in the community. Whitehill Baptist Church is having a BBQ chicken fundraiser Friday, May 10, 12-2 p.m. Aurora Church of God is having a BBQ fundraiser on Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m. (Contact Barbara or Framan Edwards to order your BBQ plate)

The Fossil Festival Committee is asking for volunteers to answer phone inquiries about the Fossil Festival a week prior to the Festival. Contact Linnie Battle if you can help out with this.

Club member Sandra Lilley told the club that we could use Camp Vandemere for one of our meetings and possibly have a picnic lunch there. More information will be needed for this.

Thanks to Barbara Edwards for sending Card Chairman Ann Cayton a get well card during her recent illness. Ann does such a good job getting cards out to those are sick or have had a death in the family. Please remember to let her know when someone is under the weather.

Alice Briley had a great surprise for the Club. Barbara Jones sent us a pineapple upside down cake in appreciation for us stuffing Easter eggs for her at our meeting in March. Our thanks to her; it was delicious.

James Parker asked the blessing and everyone enjoyed a covered dish luncheon.
