Southside High School held graduation ceremonies Friday evening. Students learned Thursday morning who would be valedictorian — Kyle White — and salutatorian — Macy Paramore.
As the end of her high school career drew closer, Paramore said it would be her FFA chapter that she’d miss most.
“I’m just really happy for the experiences I’ve had with them,” she said Thursday, after graduation rehearsals ended. “That’s where my heart is.”
Principal Rick Anderson said he had served as principal to the Class of 2013 since they were in fifth grade at Chocowinity Middle School.
“I’ve watched them grow up from fifth-grade kids all the way up to young adults,” he said. “I’m very proud of them.”
