Gilda G. Marshall

Gilda Gibbs Marshall, 82, of Engelhard, and for some years a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Cross Creek in Swan Quarter.
Born January 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel “Nat” and Rena Bell Spencer Gibbs.  She was married to William G. “Billy” Marshall, Jr. who preceded her in death. She worked for many years as an agent for United Insurance Company of America, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and very active in teaching at Mattamuskeet Senior Center. She attended the Swan Quarter Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Gilda was a very crafty person, loved everyone and always had a smile on her face.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery, Engelhard. Pastor Mike Wheeler will officiate.
Surviving are daughter, Melinda M. Fletcher and husband, William of Youngsville; three brothers, Marco Gibbs and wife, Denise of Engelhard, Allen Gibbs and wife, Sue of Engelhard and Stacey Gibbs of Brown Summit, N. C.; a sister, Hazel G. Luce and wife, Tom of Bayville, N.J.
Flowers are welcome, but memorials are suggested to Mattamuskeet Senior Center.
The family will receive friends on Sunday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Mattamuskeet Senior Center.
