A warrantless search by Community Corrections officers, along with deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, turned up enough evidence to send one Pantego man to jail, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

As a condition of his probation, James Edward Lewis, 49, of Terra Ceia Road, was subject to the warrantless searches and on Aug. 11, when law enforcement conducted one, a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine, a Vicodin pill and drug paraphernalia were found in his home, said the release.

Lewis was charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with probation violation. He was held on a $1,500 secured bond.
