MAURICE EDWARD JEFFERSON, JR.

Jan. 19, 1947 – Aug. 12, 2013

Maurice Edward Jefferson, Jr., died August 12, 2013, in Atlanta. Georgia.

He was the father of two children.

Born in Washington, N.C., January 19, 1947, he was the son of Maurice Edward Jefferson Sr. and Irene Day Jefferson.

He attended public schools, finishing with Washington High School in 1965.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a decorated veteran with two Purple Hearts.

He attended and graduated from Georgia State University while he lived in Georgia, then locating to the Maryland area and returning back to the Georgia area until his death.

He is survived by his son, Micah Trent of Golden, Co., and Cory Zirk of Jessup, Maryland, and four grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Annette Jefferson of Washington, N.C.,. and Helen Webb, an aunt of Kitty Hawk, N.C.

The burial site for Maurice Edward Jefferson Jr., a military veteran, is at the Georgia National Cemetery located near the city of Canton in Cherokee County, Georgia.
