New political party

To the Editor:

For some time now, I have come to realize that our government is broken (federal, state and local). Over the last 12 years, our government has been ineffective, inept, corrupt and dominated by petty, self-serving politicians. We elect individuals to represent the wishes of the people and to promote the common good. As far as I have been able to ascertain, these lofty ideals are not being met. Too many politicians are lining their own pockets by buying votes with “give-away programs” at the expense of all U.S. citizens. Found below, is one sentence lifted from the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence that should be considered when the governed are being mistreated by their duly elected government.

“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

To this end, I would like to invite each of you to join a new political party. Especially welcome are, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, Republicans, and Tea Partiers (alphabetical order). This is a special party, it has no candidates, no rallies and certainly no fundraisers. The platform has only one plank: vote against all incumbents. The name of this new party is The Anti-Incumbent Party. If the individuals who are now supposed to represent “we, the people” realize that we control their lives more than they want and are trying to control ours, then we can put an end to this senseless, and juvenile bickering. Vote them out of office; elect someone who will listen to and work for the people and our country. Form a new government (See mandate above: Preamble to the Declaration of Independence). Then we can repeal all the special advantages and exemptions these crooks have voted for themselves at our expense.

After you have the time to think about this, I hope you realize that it is the easiest and least-expensive way to effect change and to do so in a very short order. One election and the point will be driven home.
