NELLIE STOTESBERRY KNIGHT

Nellie Stotesberry Knight, 86, of Sunbury died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her residence in Sunbury.

Born May 6, 1927 in Beaufort County she was the daughter of the late Carl Stotesberry and Katie Paul Stotesberry and was later raised by James and Lula Smithwick of the Ponzer Community and was preceded in death by her brother, William Burley Stoteberry.  Mrs. Nellie was a homemaker and member of Belvidere Ryland Church of Christ.

Her family includes her husband, Matthew N. Knight of Sunbury, N.C.; daughters, Charlotte K. Clifton of Sunbury, N.C. and Nancy K. Gaddy and husband Hugh of Elizabeth City, N.C.; sisters, Geraldine Cale of Ahoskie, N.C. and Mollie Harrison of Belhaven, N.C.; brothers, Roland Stotesberry of Belhaven, N.C., Wilbur Stotesberry of Glouster, Va. and Gilbert Stotesberry of Belhaven, N.C.; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Wenona Church of Christ with Phillip Alligood and Bobby Cohoon officiating.  Family will receive friends on Saturday at the church following the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wenona Church of Christ or Belvidere Ryland Church of Christ.
