NCRSP | CONTRIBUTED AND THE WINNER IS: Each year, members of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel (NCRSP)-Beaufort County Unit coordinate a project during American Education Week to acknowledge local public school educators. The activities each year are aligned with the state's goal to generate recognition in the community through annual group projects in support of children and public education and to increase the Organization's public visibility. The project for this year consisted of a drawing in which the names of all members of the local unit of the North Carolina Association of Educators, Inc (NCAE) were entered. One name would be drawn and the winner would receive a check to be used at his/her discretion. The winner for this year was Jennifer Cornelius, assistant principal at Northside High School. Pictured is the check being presented to Cornelius (right) by NCRSP member Bertha Baker, who was also Cornelius's second grade teacher. Membership in the Organization is available to anyone who is retired and was employed in a school system - in or out of state.
