TOP BOARD MEMBER: Summer Woodard (left), chapter executive director for the Pitt County and Greater Pamlico Area chapters of the American Red Cross; Kay Summerfield (second from right), a local Red Cross volunteer and board member; and Amy Ward (right), president of the Greater Pamlico Area Chapter Board of Directors, present Rich Morin (second from left) with the Board Member of the Year award for 2013 for the Greater Pamlico Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. In presenting the award, Woodard said, “Rich was chosen for his commitment to the Red Cross in promoting our cause, making sure the community is aware of the services the Red Cross provides and helping to raise much needed funds to ensure the Red Cross thrives in Beaufort County. In addition to his board commitment, he volunteers as a disaster-team member to arrive on scene with local fire departments to assist families that have lost their homes to fires. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful leadership on our board of directors, and Rich is one that gives 100 percent and believes in the Mission of the American Red Cross in Beaufort County.” CONTRIBUTED
