CHOCOWINITY — It’s yearbook time at Chocowinity Primary School, and production of this year’s edition is in full swing.

The book, once completed, will be a celebration of the 2013-2014 school year.

“Buy a yearbook,” urged Michelle Dixon, chairwoman of the committee overseeing the production of the publication. “It’s a wonderful keepsake and a great way to support the school.”

Along with Dixon, other members of the yearbook committee are Dawn Stokes, Paige Hill and Kevin Cutler.

The CPS yearbook will include portraits of all students, from prekindergarten through fourth grade, according to Stokes. The full-color, 60-page publication will also feature highlights of special events hosted by the school, including field day, father-daughter dance, book exchange, skate night and storybook costume day.

This year’s book will have a colorful cover designed by CPS art teacher Sheri Matthews, using original drawings created by some of the school’s fourth-grade students.

Support advertisements may also be purchased by family, friends and area businesses. Rates range from $15 for an eighth-of-a-page ad to $40 for a half-page ad.

Yearbook ads are a great way for parents to honor their children who attend Chocowinity Primary School, Dixon said.

Advertisements may be designed and submitted online by going to the CPS website and clicking on the “yearbook” button, according to Dixon. For those who don’t wish to design their own ads, order forms are available at the school.

Yearbooks may be pre-ordered for $20 each, with delivery expected in late May. Checks should be made payable to Chocowinity Primary School.

Deadline for ads and for purchasing a yearbook is April 4, Dixon said.
