TROY C. ALLEN

February 24, 1929 – April 11, 2014

 

Graveside services for Mr. Troy C. Allen will be held 4:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2014 at Davis Cemetery, Pungo Community, Pantego.

Mr. Allen was born February 24, 1929 in Pungo, N.C.  He was the son of the late Guy Larrid and Asia Belle Allen.  Following high school graduation, Mr. Allen served four years in the Air Force, two being spent in Anchorage, Alaska, where he met and married Dorothy Simpson.

After graduation from Midwestern School of Evangelism in Ottumwa, Iowa, Mr. Allen served as minster at churches in Brazil, IN, Monroe City, IN, Meadowview, VA, Swannanoa, NC and most recently at Chilhowie, VA.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Delores Allen of the home; children, Kenneth (Joan) Allen of Walnut Cove, NC, Susan (Kazem) Khonsari of Friendswood, TX, Lynda (John) Hager of King George, VA, and Douglas Allen of Mount Carmel, TN; sisters, Nellie Sawyer of Scranton, NC, Annetta (Charles) Smithwick of Grifton, NC; uncle Joseph (Cecile) Stotesbury of LaPlatat, MD; aunt Alice Ross of Lansing, IL; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Ruth Elaine Allen; brother, Marion Durell Allen; and sisters, Ava Rhea Styons and Oneva Pearl Allen.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Allen’s life was held at Chilhowie Christian Church in Chilhowie, VA, following his death on October 21, 2013.
