BILLIE GREGORY ELLISON

April 23, 1966 – April 14, 2014

 

Mrs. Billie Gregory Ellison, age 47, a resident of 3024 Market Street Extension, Washington, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by Pastor Joan Fischer.   Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

The following will serve as pallbearers:  Allen Dixon, Cleveland Mayo, Eddie Ellison II, Travis Cherry, Justin Boyette and Jeremy Wallace.   Tyler Edwards and Justin Hodges will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Ellison was born at Seymour Johnson AFB hospital on April 23, 1966.  She was the daughter of Bill Cooper and the late Julia Ann Jones Cooper.  Mrs. Ellison received an Associate’s Degree from Beaufort County Community College, where she was a member of Gamma Beta Phi and received the 1995 Governor’s Award for her achievements.  She was a childcare teacher at Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church Pre-School.  Mrs. Ellison loved being a preschool teacher.

She was a member of Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  In her spare time, Mrs. Ellison loved doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.   She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

On April 22, 2005, she married Perry Ellison, Jr., who survives.

Surviving with her husband are her sons, John Gregory, Jr. and wife, Kacie, Timothy Gregory and wife, Kimery, Eric Gregory and wife, Katie all of Washington; three grandchildren, Hayden Gregory, Jared Gregory and Emma Jo Gregory; sister, Georgia Scherer of Washington; two brothers, Bobby Cooper and Ray Cooper of Ayden; and two brothers in law, Eddie Ellison and wife, Carol, Cleveland Mayo and her beloved mother in law, Bonnie Ellison all of Washington.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center or Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church Pre-School.
