A grand celebration dinner of thanksgiving was recently held for the purpose of honoring supporters and encouraging others who have invested in the remarkable work of the Purpose of God Annex.  It was well attended by those blessed by the ministry and by large numbers of the educational and law enforcement communities who are partners in this transformational ministry for the young people and Participants of Beaufort County.
The good work of Purpose of God Annex for at-risk young people and the work of the Project New Hope for equipping adults for responsible and ethical living in the modern workplace have continued with great success even with 75 percent reduction in funding over the past three years.
As the full program of the banquet proceeded on March 20, with numerous stories of victory and appreciation, two significant partners did not get properly thanked according to Bishop Samuel Jones Jr., who along with Mother Regina Jones, founded and directs the program.
“Both JCPC — the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council — and the United Way of Beaufort County have gone the extra mile to partner with the staff and numerous volunteers who make this ministry possible. We want to make sure they hear loud and clear how much their help is valued,” said Bishop Jones. He also wants this community know that even with reduced funding that the attitude of the staff remains positive, the facility on East Sixth Street is well cared for and loved, and there is still opportunity to give and serve.
