CITY OF WASHINGTON | CONTRIBUTED NATIONAL PRAYER: On April 11, Washington Mayor Mac Hodges signed a National Day of Prayer proclamation. The National Day of Prayer is an opportunity for Americans of all faiths to join in united prayer. In 1988, the first Thursday in May was officially designated National Day of Prayer. The City of Washington encourages all residents to observe the day in ways appropriate to its importance and significance.
