Margaret Helena Ainsworth

Aug. 20, 1931 – May 2, 2014

 

Margaret Helena Ainsworth, age 82, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania formerly of Chocowinity, N.C., died peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Gettysburg Hospital.

She was born on August 20, 1931 in Arcadia, California, the daughter of the late John Murrey Edgeston Glyn and Iris Lawton Glyn.  She was predeceased by her husband, Ret. USMC Major James Joseph Ainsworth, Sr. in 1999.

Surviving her are son, James Joseph Ainsworth, Jr. and wife Glennie of Raleigh, N.C., daughters, Carolyn Jean Miller and husband Martin of Emmitsburg, MD and Karen A. Brown and husband Richard of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren, James Joseph Ainsworth, III and wife Meredith, Chelsea N. Ainsworth, Kyle M. Brown, Kevin G. Brown, and Joel D. Miller; sister-in-law, Betty Glyn of California.

She was predeceased by a brother, John Murrey Glyn.

Graveside services and inurnment will be held on at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia with Pastor Clint Guthrie officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
