Willie “Billy” Gray Moore Jr.

July 16, 1926 – May 7, 2014

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willie “Billy” Gray Moore, Jr. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his home, after a long bout of illness.

Billy was born July 16, 1926 in the outdoor kitchen along the banks of Bath Creek. He lived his entire life in the Bath Community. Billy served his country in Germany during WWII in the “Lightening Division”. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years in the Bath area. In later years, he was remembered as the man who operated the Bayview Skating rink. Billy was loved by many.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Gray Moore and Lillian Andrew Moore; and his wife of 52 years, Fannie Adams Moore.

There will be no visitation at this time and burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Billy’s  memory may be made to Bath High School Preservation, PO Box 149, Bath, NC 27808 or American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Pkwy, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607 or National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
