The North Carolina Department of Transportation is closing North Carolina Highway 1163/Bear Creek Road on Monday.

The closure is near the Pitt and Beaufort County lines off of N.C. Highway 33. NCDOT will be replacing a water piper that runs under the road, which is between the railroad tracks and Godley Road.

Both lanes will be closed most of the day and reopen on Monday evening.
