Beaufort County Traditional Music Association and the Beaufort County Arts Council cooperatively present an outstanding The Pamlico Opry this Saturday night, July 26, at the Turnage Theater.  NC Guitar legends Tommy Edwards and Jack Lawrence are two longtime friends and two of the best flatpicking guitar players in North Carolina.  The show starts at 8:00. Tickets are $10.00 and children 12 and under are admitted for $5.00. Tickets are available at the Turnage Theater Box Office (252-946-2504).

Tommy Edwards, from Siler City, has been lead singer and guitar player with The Bluegrass Experience for the past 43 years.  He attended ECU then returned home to teach school. He hosts a weekly bluegrass program eachSaturday night on WLHC- FM (101.3) and plays music as often as possible.

Jack Lawrence lives near Charlotte and has been playing professionally since he was a teenager.  His early career included performing with newgrass innovators, The New Deal String Band and The Bluegrass Alliance. In 1983, Jack began touring with Doc Watson, and continued to do so for the next 25 years.  Arthel’s Guitar is his newest album, released last year.

Tiki Roadhouse is the rocking opening band and features talented performers from Beaufort and neighboring counties.  Media sponsorship is provided by Public Radio Ease.
