On July 18, 2014, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Brandi Nicole McMillen, age 39, of 304 E 10th St. in Washington and Richard Eugene Brown, age 40, of 304 E 10th St. in Washington. Their arrests stemmed from Investigators conducting controlled purchases of Oxycodone (Schedule II Controlled Substance) from both McMillen and Brown. Investigators arrested McMillen and Brown and located heroin packaged in wax paper bundles and syringes in their vehicle and residence.

Richard Brown and Brandi McMillen were arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance. McMillen was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond, while Brown was confined under a $30,000 secured bond.
