The Saturday night Jamboree held August meeting recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington. Tillie Braddy signed in 133 clients with the loving assistance from volunteers Elwood Sprouse and Joyce Carawan.

Doorkeeper Swindell Braddy kept a watchful eye at the door, while DJ Kenny Beacham played music for dancing, listening and toe-tapping pleasure.

Following a blessing offered by John Farmer, members of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ provided refreshments and finger foods. Those helping were Nancy Jane, Kaye Hopkins, Jean Mimmiti, Jeanny Smith, Michael Weston, Charles Smith, JoAnn Smith, Betty Gurganus, Kent Gurganus, Rita Rowe, and Susan Batchler. Other helpers included Marelene and Elwood Sprouse, Ken Wood, Martha Seighman, Tine Woolard, Tillie Braddy, Joyce Carawan and Michael Cutler. Martha Seighman led in singing “Happy Birthday” to all the August honorees.

The next Jamboree will be held at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. All mentally/physically-challenged residents and all volunteers are urged to attend.
