U.S. Cellular (NYSE: USM) continues to invest in its network with three new cell sites in Beaufort County. The sites will increase U.S. Cellular’s  coverage in Belhaven, Washington and Latham and is one of more than 375 sites U.S. Cellular has built across the state.

“We want our customers to have a great experience every time they use their devices, and this new cell site will help customers stay connected to friends, family and the information they need,” said Jeremy Taylor, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in eastern North Carolina.  “At U.S. Cellular we know your phone simplifies and enhances your life, so we provide cutting-edge devices and a high-speed network that has the highest call quality and network satisfaction of any national carrier.”

In addition to the new tower, U.S. Cellular customers have access to 4G LTE speeds in the Beaufort County area. 4G LTE speeds provide an enhanced wireless experience with fast web browsing, smooth video streaming, video chatting and speedy app downloads. U.S. Cellular currently offers many 4G LTE devices including the iPhone 5s and 5c.

To select locations for new cell sites, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company’s network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality. “The customer experience is a top priority for U.S. Cellular and we listen to customer feedback to help identify the communities that would benefit from another cell site,” adds Taylor.

4G LTE service provided through King Street Wireless, a partner of U.S. Cellular. LTE is a trademark of ETSI.
