JENNIFER COLTRAIN HARRIS

Aug. 2, 1958 – Oct. 12, 2014

 

Jennifer Coltrain Harris, 56, of Williamston, NC, passed away peacefully October 12, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center.

She was born August 2, 1958, in Williamston, NC, to Reginald Wyatt Coltrain, Sr., and Leda Faye Coltrain, who survive.  She was a graduate of Williamston High School and Meredith College.

After college, she was employed by the Brody School of Medicine followed by employment with The Enterprise.  She has been employed by C&R Implement Company as the Office Manager for 20 years.

Jennifer was very involved in her community.  Her activities include the Williamston Sports Club, President and Treasurer of the Williamston High School Band Boosters, Girls Scout leader, President of the Williamston Junior Woman’s Club, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, a volunteer for the HOST program at EJ Hayes School, and officer for Williamston Primary School PTA.

She was also a very active member of the First Christian Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible school coordinator, CHI-RO leader, member of the Ruthie Circle and was also involved in choir and handbells.

She was a devoted mother to Cassie Elizabeth Harris of Williamston, Lane Harris Greene and husband, Alex of Cary.  In addition to her parents and her daughters, she is survived by her brother, Reginald Wyatt Coltrain, Jr., of Greenville, NC, her grandmother Mary Clyde Peele of Williamston, and one of her best animal friends, Maggie.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14th from 5:30 to 8:30pm at First Christian Church, Williamston, and at other times at the residence at 1405 Taylor Drive in Williamston.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11am at the First Christian Church in Williamston.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
