To the editor:

I am trying to give a ‘thank you’ to a young man who lives in your city. Wednesday, Nov. 5, my wife and I decided to drive down to Bill’s Hot Dog stand and pick up lunch to enjoy on your beautiful waterfront. I entered the store a little afternoon, wearing my Coast Guard ball cap. A young man in front of me received his order and paid. When he left the store in passing he thanked me for my service and wished me a happy Veterans’ Day. I walked up to pay for my hot dogs and the lady told me the young man had paid for mine. I would like to thank this young man, in the 60 years that have passed since my discharge; I have never been so overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you and God bless you.
